See testimonials from our first 2020 group! Teaching new grads all of the critical skills that they don't learn at university....
Communication, Prioritization, Therapeutic Alliance, Showing value, Marketing, Setting goals to name a few.
Read below for all 24 modules over the 4 levels.
In this first module we introduce the essential clinician mindset. The need to be constantly learning and investing in yourself whilst encouraging clinicians to enjoy their journey through their career rather than racing to the top of the mountain. We teach our attendees that they will "Reap What They Sew, You Don't Know What You Don't Know and to Sharpen The Axe!"
Clients don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. In this module we go through ways we can show our care and put the client first. We also encourage ways to show your referrers how much you care, including GP letters, WOM referrer rewards and working with other clinicians.
Are we in the Sickness Paradigm or the Wellness Paradigm? We teach in this module that clinician care is not about pain relief alone. Educating and setting up treatment plans is something we excel at and we go through in specific detail how you can get your clients to Optimal Health and stay there for the rest of their days without worrying about any Significant Emotional Events along the way.
It's important that we have confidence in our own ability and portray that to our clients. We mentor on what confidence looks like, using a 3rd space so we can move on from any negatives and ensure that voice inside our head is giving us Affirmations. By the end of the module, clinicians will feel that "They ARE The Prize!"
Being a clinician can be a demanding job, and we have a guide to thrive. This module gives greater detail to the information in our e-book "How to Thrive as a New Clinician" including Compassion Fatigue, stress management, celebrating your wins and leaning on your team. It's our favourite thing to teach as attendees come away with great insight to avoid them feeling "BURNT OUT!". We also bust myths on "Work/Life Balance".
The Psychology of Self Motivation! All about setting a BHAG, (a Big Hairy Audacious Goal) that will keep us going through our careers with GRIT! ....even through winter.
In this module we teach clinicians to put first things first, focusing on the leading indicators that they can control rather than things that are out of their control. Using Eisenhower sheets attendees will learn to prioritize the important things in their life and in their workplace
Into the nitty gritty of diary management, we talk about block booking, giving just two options and ensuring they FLOW! in their "flow zones"
Why me, why now? Finding out all about what the client believes you can do and what you can help with. Why did they pick you, what was the Significant Emotional Event that bought them to your door and then work out how to meet them half way and slowly break down any negative beliefs.
Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will stick with you forever. Every day is a school day, so what are we telling our clients and how do we become the neck that turns the head rather than dragging the horses to water!
Setting expectations and ensuring the last impression you leave with your clients is a good one. We recommend the TIME/TREAT/TASK method.
This module is all about self discovery, going through your biases, love languages and learning styles so that you can better suit your ways of educating and relating to clients and their specific needs.
What are CNE's and why are they important? Well it turns out you only get promoters if you score a 9-10/10, so we really need to impress people if we want to get them telling the world about us!
Give them the BEST hospitality you can provide.
You can't be treating someone when your focus is elsewhere. In this module we teach the importance (and give a HOW TO) on being present in the consult room, as well as ensuring you are preparing well and doing what you told your client you'd do.
As they sing in Frozen, "The past is in the past, let it go!" You are the master of your own destiny and can control your effort and attitude in anything you do. Don't let life happen to you, make a plan to reach your goal rather than wish your life away.
Our brain is amazing, and it turns out with that wonderful brain we can CHOOSE how we react in any situation. If you are someone who gets annoyed by little things and always reactive, wearing your heart on your sleeve....we can teach you how to stop and Love What Is!
What is more important? Being talented or being driven?
Hopefully by the end of this module people will realise that talent alone wont make you a great clinician and that it is GRIT and effort that lead to success!
Do you believe intelligent people are born, or is intelligence developed?
In this module we try to get people to see that the brain is like a muscle, it can be trained, it will develop more from the hard work you put it through.
We also aim to uncover what is you 1% that makes you better than any other clinician so that people will choo choo choose you! Do you want to only stock Vanilla Ice Cream, or do you want to have all sorts of flavours on offer.
WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS!!!
All about building a relationship with your clients. You are a team and you should give your team mate options rather than telling them always what to do. Let's also develop our two way communication with paraphrasing and sharing a piece of ourselves.
No one likes being turned down, so we teach you how to handle sales objections and show value rather than reducing your service to a financial transaction. Let's also top it off by turning your worst case scenarios into courageous situations where you grow as a person.
Every job interview or date you've ever been on has been a sales pitch. Don't feel like a used car salesman, you are great at what you do and you provide great service to your clients. Aren't people lucky to have you on their team!
Evidence based practice is a triangle of your experiences, the clients beliefs and the external scientific data. So if you don't believe in something, you aren't going to recommend it...are you?
In this study, N does not equal 1....we need to realise that as clinicians, we have a lot of underlying knowledge. Just because we can go to the gym and do an exercise easily, it doesn't mean our clients will nail it. #GYMFAILS
Harvard Business School says it takes 7 hit points to create a sale. So what are you doing about it? Are you out there Hunting for clients or are you more of a Gatherer?
In this module we talk about ways to build word of mouth (WOM) from your promoters and discuss the nuances of Push/Pull marketing.
We also give greater detail in this module on the upcoming e-book "How to make over $100k in Private Practice"
What better way to finish than to discuss the benefits and the joys of working as part of a team.
We also try to ensure you have a sense of belonging/community in this crazy world of clinicians, revising our program so that you continue to keep your saw sharp and ensuring you always feel welcome as part of the Clinical Mentors Family.
